Andrew Chan, Violin Recital

Andrew Chan studied violin performance with Harrison Ryker and Ben Cruft at the Hong Kong Conservatory of Music.  He was awarded a three-year scholarship jointly presented by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the Hong Kong Royal Jockey Club Music Foundation to study with renowned violinist Harry Curby, and received additional orchestral training in Sydney. There he became the concertmaster of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Sinfonia, made recordings and performed as the soloist in several violin concertos.  In 1987, Andrew joined the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra as a First Violinist. He traveled with the Orchestra for concert tours in Japan, Taiwan, Macau, Peking, the United States and Canada. He has also been active in solo and chamber music performances ever since.
